#MOMCLUB
blog by Melissa Arris
First rule of mom club, never talk about mom club...
Let me say right off the bat that #MOMCLUB isn't just for moms but for anyone called to birth something by the Spirit of God on the Earth. I dream of one day men of God wearing #MOMCLUB merch and preaching the gospel of Jesus with the anointing of John the Baptist in Luke 1:17 "He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and cause those who are rebellious to accept the wisdom of the godly".
If you made it to this page I thank Jesus for you. I believe He has something He wants to say to each and every one of you. May He give you grace and peace. This is my heart poured out for Him; One part adoration, one part assault, 100% faith. This is for the 8 year old little girl in me, too scared to even keep a diary for fear of exposure and rejection, the enemy will not suppress my voice another moment. This is the ongoing story of the glory of the Lord, through my human experience.
Parenthood is a whole different type of hood and this blog is my digital diary. It is real and it's raw. It is my Spirit safe space, where I come to express myself in as honest, open, and transparent a way as I can manage. I am not a shiny perfect christian, I am just another weird human. This is my real life and my journey as a child of God, called to raise things up on the Earth. I record revelations, prophetic Words, thoughts and feelings about life, motherhood, business, ministry, and whatever else comes along.
I pray it will be a judgement free zone where others can come and feel seen, heard, and understood. Where we, as a community, can find comfort and healing as we connect and vulnerably share. May the resounding of "me too." and "But GOD!" fire merciless assaults on the enemy's plans to isolate and destroy us. I pray that this will be a place where iron sharpens iron, encouragement and living water flow, and we unite in purpose on purpose under the gospel of hope.
"God has dealt a tragic existence to the human race. I observed everything going on under the sun and it is all meaningless like chasing the wind. " (-Ecclesiastes 1:13b)
Life is guaranteed to be full of suffering, toil, and trials. May we find the purpose, joy, and beauty in the abundant life promised to us in Christ, and see His glory in the land of the living.
If today you're feeling the weight of your humanity, may you find solace and peace in the family of God. May we do life together and destroy shame, guilt, and condemnation, in our lives by the declaration of the cross and resurrection of Jesus our Messiah. May we hold space for each other and create a place where it's ok to not be ok, and where we can shine light into the shadow side of this life, as we chase after everything God has for us.
